I have heard more parents and advocate groups complaining about Grand Theft Auto-Vice City, but the truth is that this game is one of the best video games in video game history. I am 27 years old and had pretty much given up video games but just seeing this game inspired me to get back into gaming and buy a PS2. The graphics are awesome and there are so many little things that you can do. The soundtrack rocks and in my opinion, it is no more violent than some of the other games out there. I also am a parent and I don’t think I would let young children play this game. The game does teach right from wrong in certain ways. For instance, if you do something bad to a police officer, they will be on you like white on rice trying to catch you. If you take the drugs in the game, you become whoozy and can’t play with the same level of control. Who ever decided to use a Miami Vice theme with an 80’s soundtrack was a genius because this game made an old girl like me pick up a joystick again. This game is a must have and you won’t be disapointed. The missions are intriguing and you have to use your brain and critical thinking skills to advance in the game.
Some missions are more fun that others. Phenom Penna 86 will have you shooting out of a helicopter at enemies on the ground. The most difficult missions are the ones that require you to rely on the RC planes. It’s a fun game but I don’t understand why the final missions will unlock when you are at like say 40% of game completion. After the final mission is completed, nothing spectacular really happens. You can keep performing side missions like driving the taxi cab and stuff but there is a point in the game where you have so much money but run out of things to buy.
