Wyclef Jean brought out an all star supporting cast for his album “Carnival Vol. 2 Memoirs of an Immigrant.” The album is really good. Stand out tracks on the album include “Sweetest Girl-Dollar Bill” which is a laid back track featuring Akon, Lil Wayne and Niia.” “Slow Down” is a gritty Caribbean flavored song featuring T.I Wyclef re-teams with his “Hips Don’t Lie,” partner Shakira for the fast paced song “King & Queen.” Legendary singer Paul Simon joins Wyclef on the song “Fast Car.” Mary J. Blige joins Wyclef on the Marvin Gaye influenced song “What About The Baby?” Chamillionaire joins Wyclef on the slowed down track “Hollywood Meets Bollywood (Immigration).” Norah Jones joins Wyclef on the hypnotic track “Any Other Day.” “Selena” is a calypso Latin inspired song. One of the best songs on the album is the all star song “Touch Your Button Carnival Jam,” which features Will.I.AM, Melissa Jimenez, Machal Montana, Daniela Mercury, Black Alex, and Djakout Mzik. Wyclef Jean’s “Carnival Vol. II Memoirs of an Immigrant” is one of the best albums of the year.
