It’s hard to believe it’s been twenty years since rap group N.W.A. released their groundbreaking album “Straight Out of Compton.” Twenty years later, Capital/Priority Records has released “Straight Outta Compton-20th Anniversary Edition.” The re-released album includes all of the tracks from the original album and five bonus tracks.
Fans of N.W.A. will remember this album for the big hits, “Straight Outta Compton,” “F*ck The Police,” “8 Ball,” “Dopeman” and “Express Yourself.” The bonus tracks included on the CD include Bone Thugs N Harmony’s version of “F*ck The Police,” “Gangsta Gansta,” by Snoop Dogg and C-Murder, and Mack 10’s version of “Dopeman” among two other bonus tracks.
If you are looking for the tracks from the EP “100 Miles and Runnin’” these tracks were included on the expanded version of the N.W.A. album “Effil4zaggin,” which was released several years ago.
“Straight Outta Compton-20th Anniversary Edition,” will make a great purchase for an N.W.A. fan who is looking to purchase this classic album. However, it would have been nice if the record company could have dug up a few never released N.W.A. songs for the expanded edition.
