Bone Thugs N Harmony recently celebrated a return to the mainstream radio after a brief absence. Their song “I Tried” featuring T-Pain was the first top ten hit the group had in a few years. Their album “Strength & Loyalty,” was their first non-Ruthless Records major label release. The 2007 album was executive produced by Swizz Beats.
“T.H.U.G.S.” is the latest Bone Thugs N Harmony album in stores. The album features 13 previously unreleased Bone Thugs N Harmony songs. The album features vocals from Bizzy, Wish, Krazie and Lazy Bone. The songs were recorded in the late 90s before Bizzy departed the group.
“T.H.U.G.S.” is a pretty decent Bone Thugs N Harmony album. The group are melodic and harmonize in their well known manner. The album doesn’t feature a lot of guest appearances or a lot of big name producers but it’s a pretty good album. The tracks are laid back and many such as “I’m Bone” are R&B influenced. There aren’t many songs that stand out as extraordinarily memorable, but “T.H.U.G.S.” is a good album to listen to from start to finish.
Ruthless Records is promoting their 20th Anniversary with the release of “T.H.U.G.S.” The record label which was founded by the late Eazy-E and Jerry Heller signed Bone Thugs in Harmony in the early 90’s and released their debut album “Creepin’ On a Come Up.” Ruthless Records is best known for launching the career of historical rap group N.W.A.
