J.T. suggests that Emma and Manny throw Liberty a birthday party because she has been down in the dumps. When Emma and Manny declare themselves Liberty’s oldest friends it’s a bit unbelievable. Yeah they were cool throughout the years but this is hardly believable. Manny fixes Liberty up with a Lakehurst student council rep who quite obviously is more interested in Manny. J.T. let’s Liberty know that Mia is out of town, and Liberty extends an invitation to the party to him. After Manny does her make-up Liberty declares that she still has feelings for J.T. Emma and Sean were supposed to “seal the deal” the day of the party but of course Emma’s party gets out of hand, even the Lakehurkst “goons” show up. Emma gets drunk because she is nervous about “doing the do” with Sean. I didn’t peg Emma to be a virgin but I guess she is. Liberty’s date arrives and gives her a coffee mug for her birthday but he isn’t interested in Liberty–he wants Manny.

J.T. is seen wearing a white shirt the entire episode, clearly to make his bloody death seem more vivid. Libery and J.T. spend quality time together outside of the party. Liberty confesses that he still loves her. J.T. of course is shocked and then Liberty runs off and J.T. confesses to Liberty that he is in love with Mia. RIGHT! After what three episodes together, yeah six seasons of Liberty giving her all to J.T. and he tells her he loves Mia. In my mind at this moment honestly I’m like “J.T. deserves to get stabbed in the back for hurting Liberty AGAIN.”

J.T. talks to Toby, who is getting a lot of tongue action from a brunette, and confesses his true feelings for Liberty.

J.T. goes to find Liberty and runs into the Lakehurst goons who stab him in the back. This is SOOOO ridiculously poorly written. The Lakehurst guys had just had a argument with Jay, one of them even called him “Slim Shady,” but they stab J.T. who had no altercation with them. Poorly written. The Lakehurst guys who stabbed J.T. were not even the one’s he had been seen arguing with. J.T. is stabbed, Liberty finds him and cradles his bleeding body as she screams for help.

Sigh. 3 air time minutes left. Manny feels responsible at the hospital. The Degrassi gang (Toby, Liberty, Emma, Sean, Manny) are at the hospital.

The nurse comes out and says his aorta is punctured. He didn’t make it. Oh my Gosh, at this point my enture body goes numb and starts to tingle. J.T. is never seen again after being stabbed.

Life at Degrassi isn’t easy for the sisters. Between poor old Hazel who spent 5 seasons standing in the shadows to Liberty who is smart, pretty and a good person getting the shaft at every turn, hopefully one day there will be a black girl at Degrassi who doesn’t get sour grapes at every turn–but in retrospect, which female character doesn’t face constant sour grapes.

Overall, it was one of the most poorly written episodes ever. By watching the episode it was Jay, Spinner and Sean who had the most contact with the Lakehurst thugs this episode.

They should have aired the episode as a one hour episode because it ends after his death is announced and next week is the funeral.
