The-N began airing new episodes of Degrassi The Next Generation on January 5th. The new episodes are the second half of the shows sixth season. This season is especially groundbreaking for Degrassi The Next Generation because not only is this the first time characters in college are included in the storyline, this season features the first ever Degrassi homicide. Hey, I won’t spoil it for those that don’t know, but during the month of January a prominent member of the Degrassi The Next Generation cast will meet his demise.
Popular character Craig Manning returned to town in the episode “What It Feels Like For a Ghost.†If you recall, Craig left town last year to pursue his music career. He is back in town to spend time with his girl Mannie and his “good friend†Ellie. Craig brought back more than stories from the road, it seems he also has a drug problem. JT is still trying to woo new character Mia, and Liberty is less than happy about the situation. Emma and Sean are going strong and Mannie experiments with drugs to try to fit into Craig’s new world.
New episodes of Degrassi The Next Generation air on The-N Fridays at 8:00 P.M.

Teen surfer drama Beyond The Break is back for a second season. The season two premiere episode brought plenty of drama. Kai has a serious prescription drug problem. Lacey is on crutches, but she has hardly lost her edge. The biggest story of the season two premiere is Birdie’s love dilemma. Her boyfriend of one month Marcus is headed to Iraq—and he has proposed. Will Birdie say yes?
The season premiere is sure to air in repeats. New episodes air Friday nights on The-N at 8:30 P.M.

One of the most anticipated winter premieres on The N is the third season premiere of original series Instant Star. Not much has been revealed about the shows third season, promos just recently started airing. When we last saw Jude Harrison, she was in a panic because her G Major mentor and producer Tommy was leaving town and she wasn’t sure if she would ever see him again. Things did end on a semi high note; Jude was celebrating a number one album. Instant Star season 3 premieres on February 16th.

The second season of South of Nowhere proved to be quite addictive. When the show began it was a simple show about a mixed family from the Midwest settling into life in Southern California. The second season, gosh, proved to be very dramatic. The biggest storyline of the season was the love affair between Ashley and Spencer. Spencer, who was originally bi-curious, seems to have accepted her lesbianism and declares her love for Ashley. Ashley needs all the love she can get, early in the season her beloved rock star dad is killed in a fiery car crash. After her fathers death, Ashley learns that she has a sister named Kyla, who soon moved to town. Not only does she move to town, she moves in with Ashley.
Glen Carlin finds himself hooked on prescription drugs following a possible career ending knee injury. Clay has his own issues. It seems his girlfriend Chelsea is pregnant. Clay’s biological mother has moved to Los Angeles to explore her relationship with her son. Aiden and Kyla explore a relationship, but it seems Ashley is conflicted regarding the relationship because she has some kind of feelings for Aiden.
The Carlin parents attempt to patch up their rocky marriage, even though they clash regarding Spence’rs sexuality.
A third season of South of Nowhere hasn’t been announced. It would be a shame if it didn’t come back. It’s a really great teen drama.
Re-runs air on The-N.
