Gloria Estefan became an international pop star during the 1980s first as the lead vocalist for the group Miami Sound Machine and later as a solo artist. A terrifying bus accident, almost ended her career but Gloria rebounded and the hits continued through out the 90’s.

The Essential Gloria Estefan is a two disc release that includes Gloria’s biggest solo hits along with her hits with Miami Sound Machine. The music on the CD’s is arranged pretty cool in the sense that the fast up-tempo songs are on disc one and the slower songs and ballads are on disc two.

Disc one opens up with the club song “Dr. Beat.” Other popular up-tempo songs included on disc one are “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You,” “Get On Your Feet,” “1-2-3,” and “Turn The Beat Around.” Disc one includes a total of 19 tracks.

Relax a bit with disc two. Disc two includes songs like “Anything For You,” “Falling In Love (Uh-Oh),” “Words Get In The Way,” and the Nsync duet “Music of My Heart.” Disc two includes a total of 18 songs.

The Essential Gloria Estefan is a really great collection. You almost forget how many hits Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine had until they are laid right out in front of you. The two disc CD includes a color booklet with photographs, new liner notes and a personal note from Gloria.
