I cracked open my copy of 50 Cent Bulletproof not knowing what to expect. The 4th quarter 2005 PS2 release of 50 Cent Bulletproof was one of the most anticipated and hyped releases of the year. Unfortunately, the game didn’t live up to the hype. Between poor controlling, unrealistic missions (like G-Unit members being hit by gunfire and not being affected), and other gripes the game fell short.
Well I must say the PSP version is light years better. The game developers revamped the game and looked at things that were wrong and worked to make them better-not saying this version isn’t without shortcomings but it’s better.
Upon putting the game in my PSP I was told I needed to download a software update, this could have just been something with my PSP as I hadn’t turned it on in 3 weeks. After the software update I was able to launch the game. The first screen I was taken to take a tutorial. I suggest the tutorial just because it’s fun and easy. You are in a room where you can walk to three different rooms and and practice shooting, taking weapons from enemies.
After the tutorial, you are given the option to start the game. The mission starts in a warehouse where you alone fight enemies to rescue one of your parnters. One annoying factor I found was the communication, I’m sure this could be turned off but when you press start to go to the communication screen you are provided helpful hints.
Overall, character movement game play is better. I still had problems controlling the weapon but it was better than it was.
Being that this is a PSP title, there isn’t as much multimedia content. The music videos included are “In Da Club,” “Candy Shop,” and “Poppin’ Them Thangs.” Also included are two game trailers.
The songs included are “Beg for Mercy,” “Get Rich or Die Tryin” and
The Massacre. Also included are three instrumentals. Of course other music is throughout the game. Overall it’s an improvement over the PSP version and I think it’s pretty cool , there are neat cut movies (kinda like Mortal Kombat) when you take weapons from players.
