In the age of fitness videos and DVD’s the consumer often forgets about how helpful fitness books can be. Tune-Up with Sandi Morais is an excellent fitness book chock filled with physical activities, recipes and nutritional information. In the book Sandi shares her personal 30 minute total body work out. Sandi has been a fitness instructor for over twenty years. Sandi’s work out doesn’t require a lot of extra equipment. Her suggested items for the 30 minute work out include hand weights, a towel or mat and some good music to get you going. All of the exercises in her work out are clearly illustrated with sharp crisp photos.
Sandi praises the benefits and importance of water in the “Fill Up Your Tank†section. She also details various fruit and vegetable juices that she recommends. The book is filled with so much valuable information from working out with your children to tuning your mental and spiritual wheel. The recipes in the book are easy to make and interesting. One of the more interesting components to the book is the Weekly Tune Up Progress Report. This is a simple chart that you can photo copy to keep track of your personal long term path to improved health and nutrition.
The forward to the book was written by Philip Michael Thomas. Thomas is best known for his starring role on the 1980’s series Miami Vice. However, he is a very accomplished musician, author, and deeply involved in theater arts. Sandi Morais and Philip Michael Thomas together wrote the musical stage play Sacha on Broadway.
