If you love the VH-1 series I Love The 80’s you will want to check out I Love The 80’s the board game. Okay, if you heard of the popular board game The 80’s Game, this is a totally different game. The game I Love The 80’s was co-designed by members of VH-1’s creative staff. The game launched in September of 2005. The game is sold exclusivly at Target stores and via Target.com. The release of the game was timed to coincide with the October VH-1 one week installment of I Love The 80’s-3D.

The I Love The 80’s board game is much more than a trivia game. The board game is interactive and incorporates much of the TV show into the game. The game is great for parties. The game is designed for four players or more. The fgame board is broken up into individual years, similar to the I Love The 80’s television show. The objective of the game is to collect a Year Token for each year.

The directions are colorful and pretty easy to understand. There are a few items in the directions that make the actual game play seem harder than it actually is, but once you start playing the game it’s pretty fun and you can go with the flow.

Contents

The “Do The Robot” cards are pretty cool. These cards control various aspects of the game play. For instance one card reads, “You go on vacation with the ‘Griswold’ family. Move to any category space in any year and draw a question card.”

The questions on the trivia cards are not as easy as one might expect. As a die hard 80’s buff I assumed I would breeze through these cards but there are very challenging questions mixed in with some that a general 80’s fan will be able to answer with ease. The questions are not all related to music, movies or entertainment. The trivia cards are organized by year. The categories for questions are:
-Rad TV
-Dope Movies
-Wicked Music
-III Sports
-For Real, Dude
-Do The Robot

The game can get quite interactive due to the nature of some of the trivia questions. The game includes the following interactive features on certain trivia cards:
-Sing It
-Draw It
-Act It
-Quote It

Some questions in the game even refer to the I Love The 80s television program. Some questions in the game even refer to the I Love The 80s television program. The game is 100% board game and does not have a DVD,CD-ROM, or audio CD companion.

It’s a really great game and provides hours of fun. As mentioned, the game is sold exclusively at Target stores and at http://www.target.com/
